Last Friday we went to Oakland Temple but I was close for maintenance. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the city from the Temple and took some family shots.

What a beautiful Temple we have, here in California. We went this Friday 3th of July, Ramon and I went to the visitors center. He loves to touch the big statue of Jesus Christ, especially the foot marks (I don't know if he is allowed to do it, but it is easier to say sorry that to hold Ramon ;D ).

After the Temple we went camping. Ramon was the one who push us to do it. Todd had been traveling a lot in the last three weeks, so we needed some special time all together.

We went to a beautiful Redwood Forest. All for us. Seems like everyone went to the beach instead.

We love the Redwoods. There are a lot of things to see and to do.

So today after camping we went to the Farmers Market to eat something and later to see the Parade. It was amazing, we saw some dancing horses and heard a great band.

By the way, I finished my quilt!!!!

It was a great experience to meet Sergio Burgos finally after all this years hearing Todd talking about him. Sergio is from Uruguay. He has a beautiful wife and three kids. Todd meet him 15 year ago. He was his mission companion in Argentina. They were and are great friends. Todd and him told me some fun and good memories of their mission. We talked about the Gospel, life and projects.To see him was a dream that came truth for Todd. Todd said that to see Sergio after all this years must be the same that when we go to heaven. We will meet and hug again with all our beloved family and friends.

We are so happy that Justin happens to visit us yesterday, for Todd's birthday.
Todd says it was one of the best birthdays he can remember.

"Fati and Ramon made me a photo montage of our latest year together that makes me look like a super-dad (building fires with Ramon, canoeing, etc.) I proudly took it to work to hang in my office. She got some power tools too, but I think she's keeping those for herself. Nowadays you're as likely to hear the whine of a jigsaw as the hum of a sewing machine in the house. That's just Fati with her most recent project. Ramon isn't far behind with his screwdriver. He's a one-tool man.
Justin came strolling in at about 5:30. We walked down to the Miramar restaurant and ordered crab and salmon. Ramon decided "Tio Justin" was tops when Justin shared his soup with him and played "huevo" with him later on the couch (pretending to break an egg on Ramon's head -- I'm in for a lot of Justin imitation going forward). Tio Justin headed off this morning for his flight from Sacramento. We were glad for the visit. " -- Todd

Ramon and I went to visit the Half Moon Bay Fire Station. One of Ramon's best friends Mom just make an appointment with the Fire Departament for a tour, she also speaks spanish. I feel so grateful for the wonderfull mothers and kids at the church. There are a lot of boys around Ramon's age, he LOVE it.

We met the famose Banana slug too.
This forest is just 30 minutes away from home.

We were able to attend the General Conference inside the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.It was beautiful and huge. The prophet and the apostles spoke to the World. Hundreds of children song beautiful songs. It is a beautiful miracle for me to be able to see a living prophet of God. Isn't that amazing to have a truth prophet and apostles of God. God is truly a God of miracles.

Researchers raise uncomfortable questions by showing how GPS navigation devices can be duped

Just like flat-screen televisions, cell phones and computers, global positioning system (GPS) technology is becoming something people can't imagine living without. So if such a ubiquitous system were to come under attack, would we be ready?
It's an uncomfortable question, but one that a group of Cornell researchers have considered with their research into "spoofing" GPS receivers.
GPS is a U.S. navigation system of more than 30 satellites circling Earth twice a day in specific orbits, transmitting signals to receivers on land, sea and in air to calculate their exact locations. "Spoofing," a not-quite-technical term first coined in the radar community, is the transmission of fake GPS signals that receivers accept as authentic ones.
The Cornell researchers, after more than a year of building equipment and experimenting in Rhodes Hall, presented a paper on their findings at a meeting of the Institute of Navigation, Sept. 19 in Savannah, Ga.
To demonstrate how a navigation device can be fooled, the researchers, led by Cornell professors Paul Kintner and Mark Psiaki, programmed a briefcase-size GPS receiver, used in ionospheric research, to send out fake signals.
Paper co-authors Brent Ledvina, Cornell Ph.D. '07 and now an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Virginia Tech, and first author Todd Humphreys, Cornell Ph.D. '07, described how the "phony" receiver could be placed in the proximity of a navigation device, where it would track, modify, and retransmit the signals being transmitted from the GPS satellite constellation. Gradually, the "victim" navigation device would take the counterfeit navigation signals for the real thing.
Handheld GPS receivers are popular for their usefulness in navigating unfamiliar highways or backpacking into wilderness areas. But GPS is also embedded in the world's technological fabric. Such large commercial enterprises as utility companies and financial institutions have made GPS an essential part of their operations.
"GPS is woven into our technology infrastructure, just like the power grid or the water system," said Kintner, Cornell professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of the Cornell GPS Laboratory. "If it were attacked, there would be a serious impact."
By demonstrating the vulnerability of receivers to spoofing, the researchers believe they can help devise methods to guard against such attacks.
"Our goal is to inspire people who design GPS hardware to think about ways to make it so the kinds of things we're showing can be overcome," said Psiaki, Cornell professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
The idea of GPS receiver spoofing isn't new; in fact, the U.S. government addressed the issue in a December 2003 report detailing seven "countermeasures" against such an attack.
But, according to the researchers, such countermeasures would not have successfully guarded against the signals produced by their reprogrammed receiver.
"We're fairly certain we could spoof all of these, and that's the value of our work," Humphreys said.

Right from the beginning Ramon loved him, so much that he wanted to sleep right to his side the first night.
The next day, Saturday, we went to the Farmers Market and we lost Ramon, we was just waiting for us behind our bikes.

Ramon step by step potty training methods..
1. I bought a stand alone potty.
2. I put him to read books while he was sitting there, just to make him familiar with the potty.

3. I went to the library and picked up all the potty picture books for Ramon to read.

4. I wached for regular and predictable bowel movements.
5. Then I sat him just at the moment before he had to go po po (or around that moment), reading a book while we waited.
6. Todd and I clapped our hands with a lot of enthusiasm and showed the po po inside the potty to all Ramon's teddy friends.

A MISTAKE we made with Ramon was trying to sit him on the toilet.
It was unconfortable for him. He didn't feel secure there. So he ended up hating it and runing away.

A pesar de la poca nieve, hace mucho frio. Cuando nieva salimos a deslizar en los trineos antes de que se derrita o ha hacer una montaña de nieve que pretende ser unmuñeco de nieve.

Ya que no podemos salir a cenar a casa de nuestros amigos tan amedudo como antes. Hemos descubierto que nos encanta poner el mantel fino sobre la mesa, preparar una buena cena e invitar a nuestros amigos y vecinos. En la foto aparecen nuestra encantadora vecina de pelo blanco Jeanett y las misioneras de la iglesia.

Un muy buen amigo de Venezuela fallece en el hospital, no pudo recuperarse de la quimoterapia que recibió en sus pulmones. Alfredo, te vamos a echar de menos. Tu alegría, tu humor y tus ganas por vivir siempre estará con nosotros. Su esposa Zulay, una de mis mejores amigas se muda lejos de Ithaca, donde todo le recuerda a su marido. Es dificil comenzar una nueva vida a partir de proyectos y sueños derrumbados.

Cambio en la iglesia, antes asistiamos a la rama de Cornell, donde solo estaban los estudiantes de la universidad con hijos menores de 2 años. Ahora estamos en e Barrio de Ithaca donde aisten todos los residentes de Ithaca que son mormones. El motivo principal es que queremos estar cerca de mis amigas latinas que se acaban de mudar al Barrio porque sus hijos ya tienen 2 años. Nora y Claudia.

Noches de hogar exitosas, la iglesia mormona tiene un programa que consiste en pasar la tarde del lunes en familia. Siempre hemos tratado de hacer esto pero Ramon nunca las disfrutaba tanto como ahora. Todd suele tocar el clarinete mientras Ramon y yo cantamos un himno. Hablamos de Jesus, su vida, su ejemplo .... y hacemos una actividad como bailar o salir a ver el tren pasar.

Muere el Profeta de la iglesia a sus 96 años de edad, Gordon B. Hinckley. Nunca podre olvidar su fuerza al proclamar que Dios vive, el mensaje de la restauración de la iglesia de Jesus, a la manera y con la autoridad con la que fue establecidad en la epoca en que Jesus andaba sobre la faz de la tierra, con sus doce apostoles.

Despues de leer en un libro de limpieza, que NO se debe limpiar sobre lo limpio. Me quite de la mente seguir la constumbre de mi madre. Este libro me ha ayudado a reducir significativamente el tiempo de limpieza y a hacerlo sin utilizar químicos. Si alguien lo quiere leer se titula The Clean Team.

Descubri que la mejor manera de tener espacio en la casa es regalar y donar todo aquello que no se utiliza desde hace un año. La casa a dado un cambio radical y ya no parece el almacen o los pininos de la casa de mis padres en Lanzarote, jejeje. Claro que mi ropero a quedado vacio, aunque a mi me gusta decir que ahora tengo espacio para poner todo aquello que mis hermanas me quieran regalar en mi proxima visita.

Estoy asistiendo a un Webinar, un curso por internet de Marketing. Como vender, me esta abriendo los ojos a las muchas veces que me han vendido algo, sin yo darme cuenta. Que divertido sera poner todo esto en práctica algún día. De cada 10 negocios 5 cierran el primer año y 4 a los cinco siguientes años y tal vez uno sobrevive. Todo esto porque no estan estudiando Marketing como yo ;D.

A Ramon le encanta su escuelita. El me dice: "mama casa Collen, Moss, Ui, Sky..., mama tren, mama tunel". Ramon se ha echo amigo de los demas niños muy rápido y los demás niños lo tratan muy bien. Cada Lunes, Jueves y Viernes, me despido de el con un abrazo y un beso. Adios mama, Colleen tren. En el mes de enero hicieron una Sopa de Stones, donde cada niño traía un vegetal y preparaban una sopa. Hicieron un muñeco de nieve de felt.

La escuela sigue un programa que consiste, en yoga para niños, asi que ramon ya sabe como hacer la mariposa y el gato. Cantan y tocan instrumentos. Manualidades y pinturas. Juegos. Preparan la comida juntos.
